A very mild American-style beer. Two-row malt and a special brewing process keep this beer light in body. Liberty hops give flavor but don't overpower. Our lightest offering and a sure hit for fans of American beers.

Brewed with premium two-row malt and just a hint of caramel for body, this golden ale is crisp and refreshing. Cascade and Liberty hops provide balance and a clean finish. Our flagship beer and a great introduction to the world of craft beer.

Light, dark caramel and two-row pale malts with just a touch of roasted barley give our amber ale a well-rounded malt body. Cascade and Willamette hops produce the fine balance that makes this beer a great accompaniment to anything on our menu.

Rich and flavorful black ales that pair well with a hearty meal or a long conversation. Ask your server for our current offering.

From hoppy ales... to well aged lagers... and all points in between. Sometimes classic, sometimes new, always unique. Just ask your server for the details of what's on tap.

A Prairie Rock exclusive! Two-row pale and caramel malts with just a touch of vanilla combine to give this unique beer the flavor and aroma of an old-fashioned cream soda. Winner of the World Expo of Beer 2000 Award People's Choice Gold Medal.

Ask your server for a sample of all 6 of our regular and seasonal beers for only $6

Great Beer is Developed
Great Beer is developed, bad beer happens all by itself Welcome to the world of Prairie Rock Beer. From the gentle hiss of carbon dioxide bubbles to the smooth feel of a well crafted ale sliding down your throat, beer stimulates all the senses. We will focus on the four senses, sight, smell, taste & feel.  Visit our brewery in Schaumburg, and discover what a micro brewery is, and the freshness you can expect with every brewed beer.

The Color
A beer's color is determined largely by the amount and type of malt used. The term malt is shorthand for "malted barley". A malted grain is simply one germinated or sprouted before being dried under controlled conditions. After drying, the malt is sometimes kilned or roasted to varying degrees to produce malts of different colors. By mixing a variety of malts, brewers can produce beers from a pale straw color to opaque black. The addition of other grains, such as wheat, rice, or corn, can lighten a beers color.

The Smell
A beer's smell is the result of the interplay between hops, malt and in some cases, yeast. Hops are the green flower of a creeping vine called Humulus lupulus. They are shaped like pine cones and are about the size of your thumb. The oils in the hop cone contribute a bouquet that may be light and floral or sharp and pungent, depending on the amount and type of hops used and when they are added during the brew.

Great beer is crafted using time honored techniques. At the time Jim became brew master, Mike joined the Prairie Rock family. Give Prairie Rock guests a handcrafted beer of the finest quality. When people ask, what you like best about being a brewmaster. My response is enjoying the finished product.
